All On 4
The term ‘ALL-ON-4’ refers to the replacement of ALL teeth ON FOUR dental implants. This means that specially four designed implants will be placed and then a denture will be secured onto these implant, holding it firmly in place. Some cases may vary and require an extra implant, which is often referred to as ‘ALL-ON-5’. All On 5 involves all the same steps and procedures as All On 4.

What is involved in the procedure?
The All On 4 concept involves the immediate fitting of the prosthesis to the fixtures, also known as Immediate Loading. This means that you will leave with a full mouth of teeth the same day as the implant procedure!
How long is the overall procedure?
As a complex procedure ALL ON 4 takes several appointments pre-planning including getting 3D x-rays, however from the day of the surgery (which is done most often in a hospital setting for safety reasons), temporary teeth are commonly fitted within the day and then the implants are allowed to integrate for the next 4 months before they are fine tuned and a final denture is created. Healing is generally surprisingly reported as uneventful however swelling, tenderness and bruising is expected.
Once we confirm that the implants have integrated, at the 4 months review, you can start eating all types of food.
Future maintenance is often uncomplicated and involves regular attendance for scale and bacteria removal, as with natural teeth, x-rays every 2 years, and may at times require certain repairs.
As there is a lot of information to learn about All-On-4, we highly recommend booking in for a complementary consultation with one of incredible clinicians.
